 FIELD STAFF

All our treks are lead by a team of professionals — Guides, Sirdars, Cooks, Sherpas (Climbers). Our cooks have been trained to prepare food in modern and hygienic ways. All our Guides are locals with knowledge of the land and it's culture (all of them speak english and have had first aid training). Our Sherpas (Climbers) are from the Everest region born mountaineers and all of them have had climbing training in the French Alps in Chamonix, from ENSA (Ecole Nationale De Ski ET D'Alpinisme) therefore pioneer climbers. The people who will accompany you on trek are trained to handle individual requirements as well as the unexpected. Our city Guides are qualified with knowledge of art, history and culture.

 TREKS FOR ALL

We offer a full range of Himalayan treks of varying length and difficulty to suit all preferences, age groups and levels of experience. We can take you on an easy trek of a few days duration, or we can take you on a full-scale mountaineering expedition. We have organised over 70 mountaineering expeditions, adventure trips for filming groups, students, botanists, annual lovers and bird watchers, individuals and families with small children. Those with special needs have also enjoyed our customized treks. You can choose from a variety of treks - from the spectacular mountains of Nepal to the high plains of Tibet.

 TREKKING GROUP

Our long experience has shown us that a small group with an international mix of members makes for a harmonious company on the trail. Our trekking groups have a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 10 members resulting in a very enjoyable trip of your preference. Fewer members allows greater flexibility and attention to personal interests so that there is no rigidity of any kind.

 TENTED TREKS

On a tented trek, we take along all the necessary food and camping equipment. This way we are able to set our own pace and travel through places untouched by mass tourism. Porters, yaks or ponies carry all camping equipment, food and personal baggage. All you have to carry is a small day pack with personal belongings. When you reach camp, efficient support staff pitch the tents, the cooks fix delicious semi-Western meals, and the trek leader acquaints you with the local culture and customs. You sit back and enjoy your holiday.

 LODGE BASED TREK

Lodge based trek offers everything that a tented trek offers the only difference is that for accommodation lodges are used instead of tents. The lodges we use on the trail will be of high standard. Food is prepared by our own cooks to ensure safety and hygiene. We serve semi-Western meals on the trek.

 A TYPICAL TREK DAY

A trekking day usually keeps to a pattern. But this may vary drastically on days when you are crossing a pass or climbing a peak or when local conditions force changes in the itinerary. A typical day on the trail begins with a hot cup of tea and a bowl of warm water for washing. After a heavy breakfast we hit the trail. The pace is leisurely, and there is plenty of time to explore local villages and take photographs on the way. You proceed at your own pace and there is no need to catch up with others as you will be accompanied by numerous staff to guide you. Lunch time is spent beside a river or in a peaceful mountain meadow. We resume walking and reach our campsite by mid-afternoon. The rest of the day is free to do your own thing. Meanwhile, the staff will setup camp and prepare dinner. Dinner is served in the dining tent/room. After a three-course meal the sun goes down and so does the temperature. Some retire to the warmth of their sleeping bags while others hang around the dining tent to recount the tales of the day.

 ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY

We are dedicated to keeping the Himalaya as pristine as we found it. Our concern for the environment stems from the fact that our livelihood depends on it. We only use kerosene-burning stoves for cooking on all our treks. We have set strict and comprehensive guidelines for ourselves regarding collection and disposal of litter.
