Delhi the Capital of India has a fascinating history and stimulatuing present. The city is divided into the old and the new segments. Old Delhi was built by the Muslim emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th century. The Mughal style architecuter can be seen in the red standstone public buildings here. Our visit takes us to the Red Fort (famous for its delicately carved inlaid and marbled Royal Chambers), Raj Ghat (where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated) and Feroze Shah Kotla where you will see the ruins of an old fortress and the Ashoka Pillar of 300 B.C. New Delhi, designed by Sir Edmund Lutyens and Sir Herbert Baker is a mixture of East and West. Here we will be visiting Humayun's Tomb built in 1753 A.D, Qutub minar (one of the most perfect towers of the Persian world), Quwaut ul Islam (ruins of once glorious mosques of Mughal times), Marayan Temple, Diplomatic Enclave and end our Delhi sightseeing by stopping at Cannaught Place (Delhi's main shopping centre - this place is well known for its fashionable shops and bargain prices)

Jaipur, the pink city is forts and palaces of the brave Rajputs. Famous for brasswork, embroideried footwear, and glorious jewels, it is surrounded on all sides by rugged hills. The Maharaja's Palace stands in the centre of the city amidst lovely gardens. The Amber Fort was its ancient capital and its Hall of Victory is so delicately ornamented that one wonders where such skill and patience have gone. Elephant ride, a museum with rare manuscripts, paintings, and armoury, and cultural dances will introduce you to the lives of the Rajputs.

While at Samode you will be a Guest at Samode Palace. Among the edifices of Rajasthan, Samode Palace stands apart in execution. Gopal Singi was awarded Samode and his lineage is still intact and the hereditary title of "Rawal Saheb" still rests with the present family that occupies the palace. Ride on camel, watch wild dance performances by traditional Rajesthani musicians.

Taj Mahal, the great marble masterpiece built by the Moghul Emperor Shahjehan in 1630 for his Queen Mumtaz Mahal, the Agra Fort of Emperor Akbar, and the Pearl Mosque are among the great masterpieces of Agra. The ancient culture will come alive in Mansingh Palace where you will stay the night and for those travelling furhter on to Kathmandu you will visit Varanasi, the town of the scholars and ascetics and perhaps witness one of their 400 festivals.
